River Capital, part of the MSIF group, is a Fund Management company which helps ambitious small and medium sized businesses to accelerate their growth and achieve their full potential.

Our Story
Now in 2025, River Capital has more than £100m funds under management with three debt funds, a North West Private Equity Fund and the North’s First Dedicated Artificial Intelligence Fund, fund:AI, offices in three Countys, and a dedicated staff of more than 20 fuelling the ambitions of founders and SMEs.
In 2002 River Capital was established as the FCA regulated subsidiary of Merseyside Special Investment Fund (MSIF) to manage its £40m Venture Fund, £20m Mezz Fund and £20m Small Firms Fund with the £27m Seed Fund following in 2003.
By 2008, the initial MSIF funds were fully invested into Liverpool City Region with over 1200 SMEs supported, leverage of £xxxm created and 12,400 created or safeguarded.
